I have always been interested in the genre of science fiction. Science fiction is an affective way to convey a hypothesis of the future based on our knowledge of the present. I have used science fiction to communicate a prediction or an extreme outcome of an ethical idea. In my work I have explored the ideology of the body and the machine, visualising a futuristic interpretation of the body. I have experimented with the science fiction genre to predict ideas of evolution and the possibilities of hybrid species. Science fiction has been a conceptual tool for me to explore ideas about our place in the natural environment and the effects of waste and pollution.
