Awards 2008 – Rules and Regulations
General

1. The Aniboom Awards (the "Competition") shall be administered by Aniboom Ltd. ("Aniboom" or "The Administrator").

2. The Competition shall be regulated and governed by the rules and regulations set forth in this document ("The Regulations").

3. The Competition's objective is to promote and advance the creation of original, creative and unique animation materials (the "Materials"). "Materials" shall be defined hereinafter as any animation film suiting the qualifications set out in the Regulations herewith.

4. Materials will be submitted to the Competition and visitors to the Competition’s website will choose their favorite animation.

5. The Materials will be displayed on the Competition's website (http://www.aniboom.com - "The Website"), and prizes for the most popular and best rated Materials will be awarded as further detailed in the Regulations.

Information for Competitors
6. Qualifications for Entries to the Competition
Any Material submitted to the Competition by any individual or a group of individuals submitting ("Competitor") must meet the following qualifications:

6.1 The Material should be original and should not include any copyright violations or any other intellectual property violation.

6.2 The Material's features should be unique and novel.

6.3 The Material should not constitute a defamation of any person or entity, and it should not be obscene, pornographic or otherwise illegal.

6.4 Material should either be new to the aniboom.com website, or submitted as of January 1, 2008.

7. Entry Procedures

7.1 Competitors may submit Materials to the competition commencing September 15, 2008 up until December 1, 2008.

7.2 Materials should be submitted to the Competition by uploading the Materials or by submitting previously uploaded material according to the instructions on the Website.

7.3 All Competitors must sign the Submission Agreement. The signing of this Agreement is a mandatory pre-condition to the Competitors’ participation in the Competition.

8. The Competition

8.1 Administrator’s Discretion

  • 8.1.1 Aniboom reserves the right to cancel the Competition at its sole discretion at any given time.
  • 8.1.2. Aniboom reserves the right to remove any Material submitted to the Competition at its sole discretion at any time during the competition.

8.2 Panel of Judges

  • 8.2.1 Aniboom shall announce the members of the Panel of Judges ("Judges") at any time throughout the competition, who will take part in the voting, as set forth in section 8.4. Judges will be elected from professionals in the field of animation and media, at the sole discretion of Aniboom.

8.3 Ranking and Voting Mechanism

  • 8.3.1. Ranking will be in accordance with the rating mechanism to be provided and administered by Aniboom. Aniboom shall solely and exclusively operate the rating and voting on the Website.
  • 8.3.2. The entry to have the highest rank by the community, in combination with the highest score by the judges, shall be awarded the title of "The Grand Prize Winner".
  • 8.3.3 Though numerous entries by the same individual can be entered into the competition, only one entry per participant will be awarded. I.e. If two movies by the same individual rank in 1st and 2nd places respectfully, only the movie placing in 1st will be awarded a prize. The second place prize will be awarded to the next runner up.

8.4 Competition Phases

  • 8.4.1. The Submission Period: Materials may be submitted from September 15th until December 1, 2008.
  • 8.4.2. The Rating Period: Commencing September 15th and until December 14, 2008 all visitors to the Website shall be able to view all Materials. Each visitor will be able to rate the Materials at any time until December 14, 2008. The community Ranking will be calculated according to the rating System.
  • 8.4.3. Judging Period: Upon the completion of the submissions period and until December 14, 2008, alongside the rating period the Judges shall score the Materials.
  • 8.4.4. Winners Announcement: Upon the announcement of the “Grand Prize Winner” and runners up, the Competition shall officially terminate.

9. Prizes
Aniboom shall award prizes as follows:

9.1 The two (2) 1st Place winners will each be awarded a prize of $3,000 (three thousand US Dollars) plus additional prizes to be determined.

9.2 The two (2) 2nd Place winners will each be awarded a prize of $2,000 (two thousand US Dollars) plus additional prizes to be determined.

9.3 The two (2) 3rd Place winners will each be awarded a prize of $1,000 (one thousand US Dollars) plus additional prizes to be determined.

9.4 The Competitor who will be declared The Grand Prize Winner will receive a series development deal with Aniboom worth $25,000 (twenty-five thousand US Dollars).

9.5 A total of 50 top entries will receive prizes including CG Society literature, Toon Boom Software and Stash Magazines.

9.6 Prize money will be paid to the winning competitors via wire transfer. Other prizes will be issued according to the mailing addresses provided by the Competitors upon the receipt of an e-mail notification, re-confirming his or her rights to submitted content.

9.7 All prizes will be sent to the winners only after the official conclusion of the entire Competition.

9.8 Aniboom reserves the right to change and/or amend the schedule of the Competition Phases according to its sole discretion.

9.9 Aniboom reserves the right to remove Materials, choose not to publish Materials or change the prizes, dates and number of winners, at its sole discretion at any time.

9.10 In the event sums payable under the Competition become subject to income or profits taxes under the tax laws of any country, Aniboom may, if and to the extent required by law, withhold from any payment the amount of said income or profits taxes due and required to be withheld of each payment.

9.11 If it is found that a prize recipient does not hold full rights to the winning material, prizes may be withheld or reimbursement required for already issued prizes.

9.12 Though numerous entries by the same individual can be entered into the competition, only one entry per participant will be awarded. I.e. 10.Forbidden Voting

10.1 Rating and voting shall take place and prizes to the winning Materials shall be awarded according to sections 8 and 9 of the Regulations above.

10.2 Competitors are strictly forbidden to rate their own Material, or make any other manipulations to the voting process that employ non-legitimate means of increasing the rank of an entry. These means may include such things as hacking into the voting mechanism or the use of automated robots. All rating must be done by actual individuals voting for the Material according to a one person-one vote system. If Aniboom considers that any of the Competitors or anyone on his/her behalf has used illegitimate means to affect the rating and voting process, it shall be entitled, upon its sole discretion, to immediately remove this Competitor’s Material from the Competition

11. Information for Visitors

11.1 Visitors are invited to view and enjoy all Materials as well as rate and vote for their favorite Material, according to the terms, phases and rules set out hereinabove, using the rating and voting mechanism provided by Aniboom on the Website.

11.2 All visitors to the Website shall be able to rate the Materials and vote for them each one time, in accordance with section 8.4 above.

11.3 Visitors are strictly forbidden to make or assist in any manipulations to the voting process such as hacking, or double voting.

12. Rights in the Materials

12.1 Aniboom shall have rights in the Materials as set out in the Submission Agreement to be signed by the Competitors (found on the Website).

13. Miscellaneous

13.1 Matters not mentioned in the Regulations will be decided by the Aniboom organizing committee.
