FOX-Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge

The FOX-Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge is the opportunity of a lifetime.

FOX - the network that gave you The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill - is looking for the next great holiday TV special. And they've asked Aniboom to help find it.

Submit your entry and you could be the animator that the world is talking about.

Here's the skinny on the competition:

Create a 2 to 4 minute animated short about a well-known holiday - Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Halloween, anything celebrated in the U.S.

  • Make it funny. Make it edgy. Make it uniquely FOX.
  • Submissions will be accepted from May 27, 2009 through August 31, 2009 at midnight.

  • Fan voting will take place from September 1, 2009 through September 30, 2009. At the commencement of this stage, views will be reset to zero (although previous comments will be carried over) and a one to five rating system will be added for viewers to rate the videos which will be one element to help decide which entry has what it takes to stand against the other 4 finalists chosen by FOX and an opportunity at being the Grand Prize Winner. Tell your friends and family to vote!

    The Winners

The five finalists will be announced on or about November 3, 2009. Each finalist will receive $5,000, the judging panel will select four and one will be selected by the fans.

On or about November 17, 2009 Aniboom and FOX will announce the Grand Prize Winner, who will receive an additional $10,000 and an opportunity for a development deal at FOX.

    The FOX Competition Nickname

FOX would like each Holiday Animation to be judged on its own merits and not judged based on work you may have previously posted on Aniboom. This means that those folks with a smaller portfolio of animations don't have to worry about being judged against folks with bigger portfolios and years of published animations.

So, in addition to having an Aniboom account username, for this contest you are also asked to create a "nickname" before submitting your animation. Your account username and your "nickname" may be anything you'd like them to be, as long as they are not the same. In the rules it is suggested that you choose names that protect your privacy.

    Movies Appear As Private

For the duration of the competition your submission will appear as private within your account. On completion of the competition your animation will automatically appear publicly in your portfolio under your Aniboom username.
