Aniboom and The History Channel Want You to Animate History!
The History Channel and Aniboom are giving you the opportunity to have your animated take on a great historical speech shown on television. We've recruited musicians, actors, and writers like Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Josh Brolin, Allison Moorer, and Bruce Springsteen, to read the words that have shaped and enriched our nation. By boldly rising and demonstrating the power of free speech and democracy, these select few people enriched the world and changed history with language. Keep the traditions of self-expression and artistic freedom alive-we want to see your take on the incredible and inspirational words still ringing down the annals of history!
Here's how it's going down:
You can download our audio tracks and animate the one (or ones) that inspire you most. Using 30 seconds of voice track audio, which you can mix with any of the original background music we've provided, animate your chosen clip(s) in the most unique and interesting way imaginable. You will have from July 15, 2009 until September 2, 2009 to enter your First Cut.
A panel of select judges, including Chris Moore of Project Greenlight, then picks four First Cut finalists and fans at Aniboom will pick the final one. Our Five Finalists will be announced on or around September 16, 2009, after which they will have until November 4, 2009, to complete a Final Cut. Those Five then automatically compete for the Grand Prize, where they will be joined by a Wildcard Finalist. The Wildcard Finalist is selected by the panel of judges during the second round of voting on Final Cut Animations. One Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by our Panel of Judges to receive an additional $10,000, and a $15,000 development deal with HISTORY and Aniboom, and they'll see their winning entry air on The History Channel.
The History Channel and Aniboom are looking to you for the most unique, imaginative, and inspiring animations! Simply put, we want you to make history!
Finalists and Winners
Five First Cut Finalists will be announced on or around September 16, 2009. They will receive $5,000, and will automatically compete for the Grand Prize with the Final Animations they create. Four will be selected by a special Judges Panel; the other will be chosen by the Aniboom Fan Community.
A Wildcard Finalist will be selected during the second round of voting by the panel of judges, and will be placed in the running with the First Cut Finalists for the Grand Prize. The Wildcard Finalist will be announced on or around November 18, 2009.
One Grand Prize Winner will receive $10,000, and a $15,000 development deal with HISTORY and Aniboom. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on or around December 2, 2009.
