Ok this is kinda wierd but ok. Ya, you need splats. Blood stays on a knife. When making an animation, concentrate on the forces of gravity and think what it would be like to be in that situation. (JUST DON'T PRETEND TO FEEL DA PAIN) Thats how I got good.
