I'm really glad you connected so well with the character. and yes, in a sense he becomes a part of the tree, and the leaf that grows represents new life, a new start, a new cycle, which leads to and connects to another life. But that is just one explanation. Hearing other people's interpretations is always wonderful.

However that is an understatement. It was a touching video. I really got into it. To me it was like an actual movie where your feelings are intertwined with a character. I felt sad when he began to become consumed by evil and was sad when he seems to die. It was a touching animation.

I may get this wrong, but i see this video as the beginning of the birth of this creature; where he/she falls and finds themselves trying to figure out what they need to be doing. And in the process, they find out what is important; that being the next generation. The darkness i look to as death. Not a reincarnation, but just death as a metaphor. Before he dies, he is able to pass on the life to a new generation.
