So, what if a bad guy came to your house and said that if you didn't give him all your money, he would kill your cat? Then you told him no, so he shot your cat, only it wasn't your cat, it was actually a stray from the neighborhood, so you really didn't care... I bet that would make the bad guy feel pretty stupid.
