So you would have wanted something a little more exciting? Me too. The sequel has a little more "action" in it. Thanks! - Ed

I just think it might have been funnier to have an obviously distinct Gurkle (maybe super geeky or akward or some other thing who embarasses his dad - don't have to say it's Gurkle, just give him a trait or very distinct look that carries over - or even a 'healed wound') who comes back versus a detective turkey out of a family of non-descript turkeys I don't care about.

Once a turkey showed up in a detective outfit I assumed that was Gurkle - and yes, as the one with the leaves was the last to be shot, I assumed that may have been Gurkle as well (or possibly one of the others survived, but that was 'probably' the one that was it. But - I actually had assumed one of the other turkeys was Gurkle -before- the shooting, as there was no indicator 'which was Gurkle'. And yet he comes back with detective knowledge, older?, yet having looked at fresh? tracks.

Regarding the tracks... he had detective skills before the massacre, and he returned to the crime scene a few times. Also, the goal would be, through flashbacks, to show more of the family and how that relates to present time. For the overall length of the animation, the beginning scene was already longer than it needed to be. I'd have liked to fill out the revenge story a little more (and the sequel will do that). Thanks! - Ed

On plot - I liked the idea of a detective, the tire/care explanation was my favorite bit. I would have liked to see more of gurkle's personality in the begginning, or at least had him distinguishable, because I was not sure which turkey he was and was not even sure if he had survived. The potty humor drawing at the end - didn't really add - and the bit with the mom screaming and then being 'ok' fell flat rather than being 'funny' - I think you have to be careful with joking around with mothers.

Fair enough. You can never tell what humor works unless you get a mass consensus (most of what I've heard previously from others disagrees with what you said here). Anybody agree/disagree with Amonite about these two "jokes" at the end? Thanks! - Ed

Plot... It wasn't clear that Gurkel was the one you saw last who yelled out "Noooo!" and fell into the leaves? Whether or not he was alive was intentionally not explecit. That's usually how the hero/villain is created... Joker in Batman, Catwoman in Batman Returns, Sandman in Spider-man 3, etc. At least for a second, they're presumed dead. Thanks for these thoughts! - Ed

rather than professional flash vector illustration. Changing the color palatte or adding in a third shade tone might have helped as well - but bolder, varied lines, maybe even some screen tone patterns would have fixed the mspaint issue.

Actually, I agree that it does look like it was drawn in paint. The key is in the weight strength of your lines. Flash has a beautiful ability to make strokes that vary in weight strength - so you can use blocks of color, even bright color, and yet still anchor your figures and give substance to the scene. There is hardly any line variation in this -at least not dramatic enough to be noticeable, and so it looks like thin 'outlines' painted with a fill tool in paint, rather than professional flas

This is brilliant. Truly captured the classic "animation for adults" genre. Nice job. For all the haters about the animation or the plot, you need to take lessons from this video. These guys know what they are doing and will make a living at it. You, on the other hand, will support their career's progress by purchasing the very material they produce when it becomes mainstream. I weep for your lack of foresight, and I pray for your rotting mind. Ed, keep up the GREAT work,

The Animation was pathetic, the lip syncing was terrible ! The concept was just horrendous And it looks as if you drew it using ms paint. Complete Fail!

First, I saw your user name. And I was thinking, wow, with a user name like that, this person must give the best compliments and the best advice where he truly cares about animation and tries to help people get better. Unfortunately, your comments don't live up to your user name. Sorry.

To address your issues you brought up... You think we should use more frames for the animation to make it less poppy? We're working on that. We're also looking at getting the lip syncing tighter, but I still like the range of lip movements here. And why MS Paint? This was done in Flash. Just because of the bright colors? Thanks!

You think you are watching the cute adventures of Gurkel and friends and... BOOM! Hahaha. Turkey names: Turkel, Lurkina, Glurt, Hurk, Gurkel, Globble. This Thanksgiving animation is original for the contest and includes professional actors. We have written permission from all involved. Thx! - Ed
