Rowan Thompson has Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Rhodes University in South Africa. He worked for The Cape Mint designing and sculpting coins until he got a computer, which he used for a while until he decided to animate his personal sketches using a computer's remarkable capabilities. After learning a little more of computer animation, he acquired a wacky graphic tablet to draw on and put aside his traditional brushes! (but still uses a pencil).
