Two months ago, Radiohead chose four
one minute video clips as winners in the
In Rainbows Animated Music Video Contest.
Kota & Totori,
Wolfgang Jaiser & Claus Winter,
Tobias Stretch and
Clement Picon were each awarded
$10,000.
Since then they've been hard at work turning their clips into full length music videos. We've waited patiently and now they are finally ready for viewing!
Let's take a look back at the journey these creators took to get to this day. On March 17, 2008, aniBoom, together with Radiohead's label TBD Records, invited
animators from all over the world to compete in a competition that Radiohead themselves would judge.

Divided into four stages, the first one asked animators to submit
storyboard ideas illustrating their vision for the In Rainbows song of their choice. In addition, recognizing the benefits of artistic collaboration, aniBoom hosted a classifieds of sorts in which creators could find an appropriate match to work together on their entry.

Soon
900 storyboards had been entered. From those 900,
236 one minute video clips were produced, competing for the
10 Semi-Finals spots and $1,000 each. An additional three videos were granted "Golden Tickets".
A frenzy of voting ensued, resulting in the 13 Semi-finalists being narrowed down to 5 Finalists. The aniBoom community and Radiohead fans waited to see what the outcome would be. Which entry would Radiohead choose?

Citing the high caliber and creative quality of the 5 Finalists, Radiohead made an unprecedented decision to award a total of FOUR winners. This means in addition to aniBoom's $10,000 in prize money, Radiohead would throw in
an additional $30,000! Congratulations winners!
