Things are in full swing and the excitement is palpable. If you know how to animate (particularly those specializing in 3D) this is your chance to possibly have your work seen on the big screen, and be involved in the making of a feature animation film!

However, even if you don't work in animation, you have an important role, by getting involved in viewing and voting.

What is this all about?

The home of animation (that's us - aniBoom) has gotten together with some of the biggest and most important companies - Intel, Facebook, AutoDesk and ReelFX to launch this new project.

Let me break it down for you

Animators from all over the world will animate and upload a small portion of a short animated film, called "Live Music". Then, a panel of judges with animation direction experience, will select the best segments to form the completed short film. If this short film is successful, a full length feature film may get the green light.

Begin by going to Facebook and either Logging In, or Registering to access the Mass Animation application, which you can find HERE

Click on "Add Mass Animation Application". This will add the Facebook application to your profile, just like any other Facebook application. Don't worry, nothing will download to your computer. There you can view & vote for other people's submissions, watch the animatic for the short film, "Live Music" and find out how to upload your own submission.

Still on the fence? here are answers to two important questions you might have:

1) Will I be provided with the tool necessary to contribute?
- Yup. You'll be able to download trial versions of Maya 3D Animation Software.

2) What about monetary compensation for my work?
- All artists whose work ends up in the short will receive cash, an earnings participation, a credit in the film and the opportunity for a fully paid position if a feature film gets made.
