We’ve all been waiting with great anticipation to hear who Radiohead would choose as the Grand Prize Winner of the
In Rainbows Animated Video Contest. And now that day has come.
The caliber and creative inspiration of the competing animations was so great that Radiohead has decided to throw an
extra $30,000 into the pot to see all of them developed into full length animated music videos. Not one, but FOUR animators are being rewarded for their incredible work.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and recall how it all happened….
Radiohead and aniBoom launched the "In Rainbows Animated Music Contest" On March 17, 2008.

The multi-stage tournament called for storyboards or animated clips of which an impressive 900 entries were submitted. The community voted and along with an esteemed panel of judges chose 10 that were awarded $1,000 to create a 1 minute long animated clip for the semi-final round.
The public continued to submit their one minute animated clips in hopes of obtaining one of the three Golden Tickets.
These three Golden Tickets granted the recipients entry into the semi-finals round and the possibility of being seen by Radiohead in the Finals.

The three animations to receive Golden Tickets included the beautiful calendar art of
VDTP by dbartwork, the mixed media
Nude Noodle by Mark Charlton and the puppet/stop motion fantasy in flight
Transmutations by Tobias Stretch .
A panel of judges holding prominent positions in the entertainment industry were responsible for this selection.
