Amid the worldwide craze of "American Idol" and all its incarnations (Bulgarian Idol, Australian Idol, Canadian Idol, My Arse Idol), came aniBoom's "EyeDoll". We figured, let's take something we consider already pretty funny (mostly untalented people singing cheesy pop songs) and make it even funnier. So we presented our own version - an animated contest with fictional hosts and outlandish characters. aniBoom provided a pre-constructed "stage" in 3D, 2D and stop motion animation mediums for download, together with downloadable parodied songs of some popular hits and asked the aniBoom community to come up with their best contestants.
What resulted was an amazing assortment of wacky cartoon characters giving it their all for fame and fortune. From the Beatnik girl singing about acid to a Transvestite begging her partner to be more "E.R.E.C.T.", there was something for everyone to get a laugh out of. Our Grand Prize Winner, James Lee, won a trip to LA to interview with talent agencies, where he was signed to Gotham Group together with his fiance Hania, the singer of "Pop Star".
