Week 8 Winners!

Let's give it up for our Week 8 finalists, Mario Collantes and Sabrina Garrasi! They're our 15th and 16th qualifiers for the Finals Round that starts July 30. Mario's short and scary GAGAMBA was an excitingly dark departure from his other films. Sabrina's stick girl with attitude in REVENGE made us laugh. Way to go!

Two very different movies won this week...Jojo Aquino, known to forum users as "Mikergee" did a great job on THE TAKE OUT, a mini film noir story.  Everyone was super impressed by the sound files.  Jeff Gill's TWISTED pulls a little man this way and that until finally at the end he has him tied up like a clown's balloon at a kid's party.  Perfect timing and smooth transitions! Let's give it up for these talented guys!

They're embeddable!
They're embeddable!

Like most movies on the Aniboom website, Shapeshifter films are embeddable. That means, you can have them play in places other than here - for example on your MySpace page. It's really easy: below every player you'll find coding next to "Embed". Copy-Paste that code into your profile or blog editing box.

From the Forum: Adding Sound

Sound can really take an animation to the next level, but you might not know where to find free sound files, or how to make your own. Aniboom's resident 8 year old (or he might as well be) Noam suggests you try "The Free Sound Project"  website. It's a collaborative database of free Creative Commons licensed sounds. And it's not all fart sounds like Noam claims ;-)

Shapeshifter Winners Week 6

It's that time again, kids! And the winners this week are: Tyler Baraby for his ROBOT TESTING A-2.1 and Jonathan Fontaine's POOR WORKER! Tyler's first Shapeshifter got good reviews, but after some suggestions from other users, it got even better! I love the ending! POOR WORKER's transitions are seamless, simple but expressive. Way to go, guys!

New Shapeshifter Version!

For those of you that like to make longer Shapeshifter movies, I have some good news! We just uploaded a new version of the animating tool that supports compression (files are now up to 10x smaller!)and uses less memory! And now we will do the official Aniboomian happy dance!
