aniBoom Awards 2008 Additional Information
aniBoom Awards 2008 is an annual online animation competition intended to encourage the creation of original,
creative and unique animation materials.
Requirements for entry into the competition:
• Movie must contain animation or CG special effects
• Run-time can be up to 15 minutes (for longer movies please send a request to (info@aniboom.com)
• Movie cannot be pornographic or overly offensive
• You must hold the rights to all materials used in the movie
• Movies must have either been created or uploaded to aniBoom as of January 1, 2008
September 15th until December 1, 2008 - Submissions can be made (upload and/or submit your film to the competition).
During this time audience will view and rate the competing submissions.
December 15, 2008 – Announcing the Winners - The 7 winners will be announced and awarded their respective prizes.
Winners will consist of the following:
1 Grand Prize Winner – The highest ranked overall, determined by a combination of community rating and judges
panel score.
3 Community Favorites – Determined by a system that relies upon a combination of audience viewing and rating
statistics. (See F. Rating System below)
3 Judges Panel Selections – The aniBoom appointed judges will view all material and choose 3 winners.
All movies will be placed under one category: aniBoom Awards 2008.
You may submit as many movies as you like to the competition.
(i) Grand Prize: $25,000 development deal with aniBoom Creators Studio.
(ii) Two 1st Place prizes of $3,000 each (1x Community and 1x Judges’ Selections)
(iii) Two 2nd Place prizes of $2,000 each (1x Community and 1x Judges’ Selections)
(iv) Two 3rd Place prizes of $1,000 each (1x Community and 1x Judges’ Selections)
(v) First 50 places including top 7 shall receive prizes to be determined.
The top 3 Community Selections are based on Ranking. Grand Prize winner selection is made using a combination of
ranking and judge selection. Rankings take into account three factors: Views, Votes and Virality.
1. Views: number of views and percentage of movie viewed.
2. Rating (Votes): Community members rate the movies using 1-5 bombs to designate how much they liked it.
3. Virality (Sharing): number of times animation is emailed, embedded, bookmarked and posted.
