This piece draws inspiration from such films as "Metropolis" and "Modern Times". In further development I"d introduce stop-motion elements, and more fully realize the German Expressionist aesthetic. I"d love to try out a whole series of these, where the text acts as an architectural element.

What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? In this 30 second film we use a stark contrast of style and colour to show that as America thrived and celebrated their power, their slaves were victims of gross injustice and cruelty.

During the Great Depression many families had to resort to creative means to survive and small moments of generosity could mean having a meal or not.

This is my entry to "The People Speak" competition. I really liked this piece and wish I could do the full thing. I used ToonBoom Animate to make this animation I find it pretty interesting the recurring theme that these clips seem to have
